Barbara started in the food industry aged 19 and for the next 6 years gained experience of frozen sausages and uncooked pies, fresh sausages, pork pies, re-heatable pastry products and quiches both in shop floor positions then moving on to Quality Assurance.
After a 3 year break from the food industry, she returned to a position within the QA Dept in cooked & sliced meats manufacturing, progressing rapidly to become a specialised raw material technician gaining experience with raw fermented meats, including specifications and microbiological integrity.
From 1998 until 2006 Barbara was a full time food product specifications writer with a major supplier to UK food retailers. In 2006, she became a full partner in Spec-Tecs until the business was merged with TQS Food Consulting in 2010. Currently providing technical support for Product Specifications to TQS with specialist expertise in the generation of Tesco, Asda, Sainsbury’s, Morrisons and Marks & Spencer Specifications.
